Formed in 1995 from two smaller village teams - Bettws AFC and Bettws Athletic.

They set out in the South Wales Senior League Second Division, from which they were promoted at the end of their first season. Five seasons in the First Division saw one third place, two second places and a couple of cup wins, leading to the championship and promotion to the Welsh League at the end of season 1999-2000.

Their relentless march up the pyramid continued, with successive promotions from Division Three to the Division One championship, where the inevitable issue of facilities prevented them taking up their place in the Welsh Premier League.

Season 2003-4 saw the juggernaut run out of steam, their preoccupation being with maintaining their First Division status despite backroom turbulence.
